This workshop is open to any health professional, although it is primarily targeted for family physicians and nurse practitioners. It will build your confidence in working with people with eating disorders. We’ll begin by hearing from a young woman with lived experience of an eating disorder, which will help participants gain an understanding of the dimensions of these complex disorders. Then, Dr Wilkes-Whitehall will present the key points the primary health care providers need to know regarding diagnosis and medical management. Finally, an interactive discussion will round out the presentation, with a focus on communication skills.
